They usually focus on signing up more people to sell the products or services of the company.
When the people that signed up fail to make any money, they usually feel taken advantaged of. This can put a strain on close relationships.
Some multilevel marketing companies are pyramid scheme.
There are legitimate multilevel marketing companies like Mary Kay, but it usually takes 3-5 years to create a decent income.

While people do work from home and earn a good living especially since the internet took off, most people working from home do not make a decent income.
Beware of opportunities that you hear about through e-mail, magazines, or over the telephone.
Often, no real company exists.
Beware of opportunities that promise to give you a “packet of valuable information” for a fee.
